BRIO Tuscan Grille is an Italian themed restaurant that just recently opened its door in its newest location in St. Johns Town Center. This is an impressive location with magnificent decor and when we were visiting, which was actually a Monday evening, the restaurant was bustling with guests, maybe because the restaurant is brand-new.
The interior of BRIO Tuscan Grille reflects the Tuscan theme with hardwood cypress flooring, arched colonnades, hand-crafted Italian mosaics, antique doors, walls covered in an antique Venetian plaster, Arabescato marble-imported from Italy, and sizable wrought-iron chandeliers. There is indoor seating for 160 guests and al fresco dining for 88 on its Italian-style terrace featuring an outdoor fireplace. The 11,254-square-foot restaurant is just massive.
The menu features grilled and oven-roasted steaks, chops, seafood, made-to-order pastas, flatbreads and entree salads. We had a hard time choosing, so we followed our waitress’s recommendations for our order. The service was swift and very friendly, and when the appetizers arrived we knew we were in for a treat. We ordered the Beef Carpaccio and the spicy shrimp and eggplant. I always like a good steak, so I ordered the Gorgonzola Crusted Bistecca, served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. My wife ordered Swordfish Grigliata, which is grilled swordfish skewers with with fresh egg fettuccine, cremini mushrooms, green onions and a spicy lobster butter sauce. We were both very pleased with the food.
