MARC WISDOM
Born into a Bavarian family, Marc grew up in St. Louis, Missouri in the shadow of Anheuser-Busch. He has been a fan of beer since he was old enough to fill his grandfather’s stein. In his quest for more and more beer knowledge, he traveled to Belgium to immerse himself in the beers and beer culture of the country. There he visited a number of breweries, ancient pubs, and museums. He returned to the states with a renewed passion for beer in all its splendid forms, but particularly those that originate in Belgium.
Marc Wisdom is a beer journalist who currently writes BUZZ Magazine’s monthly beer column, “Brew Time.” He has written freelance articles for Jacksonville Magazine and he also writes the Springfield Brew Crew blog (www.sprbrewcrew.com, select BLOG from home page). His unique writing style entertains as well as educates the reader on the history of beer styles, breweries, beer and food pairing, and beer culture around the world and locally. Now Marc has teamed up with I Know Jax for a weekly story about craft beer and the local beer scene.

KRIS CHISLETT
Born in 1980 and raised in Halifax, England, Kris Chislett now resides in Jacksonville, Florida with his wife Denise, their cat Maisy and his overflowing collections of Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and Decanter magazines.
When it comes to wine, Kris drinks only the most prestigious, most expensive wines from around the world (when someone else is paying). The rest of the time he keeps his wine purchases to around $20, $30 if it’s a special occasion. He has been in the hospitality industry since the age of 15, working everything from fine dining banquets serving English dignitaries, right through to McDonalds (he lasted 2 weeks under the Golden Arches).
Kris is one of only a few Certified Sommeliers (Court of Master Sommeliers) and Certified Specialist of Wine (Society of Wine Educators) in North-East Florida.
CARLA MECHELE
Born and raised on the northside of Jacksonville, Carla has deep roots on the First Coast. She is a proud graduate of The Bolles School who followed the trail of orange and blue to the University of Florida where she earned a bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism. During college, Carla worked as an anchor/producer for Mid-Florida Public Radio, and as a field producer for Gatorvision and ESPN during University of Florida football games.
After college, Carla returned to Jacksonville to work as a multimedia journalist at First Coast News for two years. After venturing out into the marketing world, she found herself in front of the camera on local news segments as a spokesperson for the Jacksonville Giants. Most recently, Carla has worked as a freelance field producer for Inside Edition.
Carla is passionate about revealing the beauty of the First Coast to I Know Jax viewers. She will cover topics she’s passionate about, such as music, arts, and culture.
