First Wednesday Art Walk

First Wednesday Art Walk in downtown Jacksonville, Florida is a favorite monthly event in the River City.  This is a great recurring art event growing in popularity.  Make it an evening out on the town, gather a group of friends or family, explore and have fun.

After the art walk itself the downtown area has many interesting restaurants, cafes or bars where you can rest hang out for the evening.  The First Wednesday Art Walk  is a free event. It is a self-guided tour of galleries and museums and other venues in the downtown area.

The event is held rain or shine – from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

  • May 5, 2012: “Conservation, Fashion, Art”
    June 6, 2012: “Mad about Art” (Dance) 
  • Aug 1, 2012: “Be Out Guest” (Culinary)
  • September 5, 2012: “Pet Walk”
  • October 3, 2012: “Hispanic Heritage”
  • November 2, 2012: “Battle of the Marching Bands”
  • December 5, 2012: “Art under the Tree”

The artwalk takes place in about 15-block radius in the Downtown area with Hemming Plaza as the focal point. It’s a great opportunity to see some of the creative talent Jacksonville has the offer.

Hemming Plaza
Start at Hemming Plaza where you can pick up your map. This is the focus point of the art walk, and a good place to start exploring.
Parking
Street parking is FREE after 6 p.m. and the Downtown Garage on the corner of Adams and Clay offers FREE parking Art Walk night.
